Rescue Takes Center Stage

NYC Second Chance Rescue’s fifth annual Concert for a Cause brought philanthropy, music and animal advocacy together in Bridgehampton, honoring John Paul DeJoria and featuring performances by Ashanti and Fabolous.

NYC Second Chance Rescue returned to the Hamptons for its 5th Annual Concert for a Cause, gathering supporters at a private Bridgehampton estate for an evening devoted to saving vulnerable animals.

This year’s event honored entrepreneur, philanthropist and longtime animal advocate John Paul DeJoria, while also marking the world introduction of Pawpoint. The evening combined fundraising, entertainment and community support for one of New York’s active animal rescue organizations.

Musical performances were led by Grammy Award-winning artist Ashanti and platinum-selling artist Fabolous, bringing a high-energy element to the benefit. Fundraising continued throughout the evening with a live auction, including a yacht charter donated by Lauren and Eddie Shapiro of NestSeekers, along with a paddle raise supporting the organization’s rescue efforts.

“It is an honor to be recognized by NYC Second Chance Rescue,” DeJoria said. “Their compassion, dedication, and commitment to animals are truly inspiring, and I am grateful to be part of an evening that will help so many animals in need.”

Among the notable guests were Jennifer Brooks, Lisa Blanco, Lisa Rose, Katie McEntee, Beth Stern, Carole Radziwill, Peter Cook, Kenneth and Maria Fishel, Blair and Margit Brandt, along with DeJoria, Ashanti and Fabolous.

Presenting sponsors Alexander Capital Ventures LLC, Montauk Project and the Phenom Foundation helped support the evening and the organization’s ongoing work.

Founded in 2009, NYC Second Chance Rescue is a nonprofit dedicated to helping dogs and cats facing some of the most difficult circumstances. The organization has rescued more than 17,000 animals, with a particular focus on large-breed dogs and critically injured or medically complex animals that can be difficult to place.

Through its foster network and Long Island City Adoption Center, the rescue provides medical treatment, rehabilitation and adoption services. Its broader community programs also work to help families keep pets they already love, reducing the number of animals entering shelters in the first place.

With Concert for a Cause now in its fifth year, the Bridgehampton benefit continues to combine the glamour of a Hamptons summer evening with a mission rooted firmly in compassion.
